Van Buren's Historic Wall Mural
Located in Van Buren's Mike Meyer Riverfront Park, where Main Street ends at the river's edge, is the Historical Wall Mural. This project by Van Buren High School art students began in 1981 and continued through 1985. The mural, painted on a wall 12' x 1200', depicts the city's history starting from prehistoric time through the 1970's. The Paintings depict such scenes as the Civil War era, paddlewheelers, the first automobile, Pearl Harbor, and many other beautiful scenes of the area's history.
